Who attends the clinic?

Massage is good for everyone & therefore not restricted to sports professionals.  My clients vary significantly in age and lifestyle; the youngest client is 12 (legal caveat) and the oldest 94.  Each person is unique, but typically they attend to:

  • relieve stress
  • treat a specific muscle (group) as a result of sports strain, injury or overload
  • reduce chronic persistent pain that causes daily restrictions
  • alleviate symptoms & correct muscular injury from whiplash
  • just to relax
  • assist in correcting poor posture caused by work & lifestyle influences
  • to reduce symptoms of repetitive strain injury
  • manage symptoms of chronic medical conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis & Fibromyalgia, where mobility needs to be restored
  • a regular massage when training for an event provides an early detection system in athletes, preventing injury & optimising performance
  • pre & post operative rehabilitation

Did you know that Smoothing Knots sports therapy is more than just massage?

My sports injury clinic uses techniques alongside massage to restore range of movement.

The clinic provides excellent sports injury advice & rehabilitation, with correctional exercises tailored to each client, to be practised at home so they can recover quicker

What's a typical client?

No such thing so the list is endless....normally clients initially attendto seek release from pain & tension.  After treatment symptoms start to abate so they come regularly to keep the injuries at bay & benefit from increased range of movement

Occupations of some of my clients include; doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, builders, architects, accountants, managing directors, administrators, electricians, security specialists, massage therapists!, hairdressers, retired people, gardeners, recruitment consultants, polo grooms, football players, GB Dragon Boat racers, engineers, GB junior rowers, train and tube drivers, runners, cyclists, gym bunnies, joggers, golfers, tennis players, Les Mills officianados!, engineers, IT workers, walkers, rugby players, skateboarders, musicians, endurance athletes....to name but a few!

I am very proud to announce that in 2014, I supported Mike Trees (professional triathlete and runner) to gain a World Ranking of 1st in 3000, 5000 and 10,000 metres in his age category in 2014....he put in the hard work obviously, I just patched him back together again between races and training sessions!  Congratulations to Mike on an excellent year
